A project was carried out to renew its virtualization platform. For this purpose, a virtualization cluster based on Proxmox VE (PVE) was implemented, providing a robust, scalable and high-performance platform on which to run its critical services. During the project, the existing virtual machines were migrated from the previous infrastructure based on VMware to the new Proxmox VE platform, ensuring service continuity.
Likewise, a remote backup strategy was implemented using our Proxmox Backup Server online service, allowing the availability of secure, efficient and accessible backups in case of potential incidents, strengthening the disaster recovery capability.
Network segmentation was also implemented through the deployment of VLANs and subnets to separate different areas, improving the isolation and security of the infrastructure. The architecture was reinforced with a perimeter firewall managed through FWCloud, which allows centralized management of iptables-based security policies, while VPNs were enabled for remote access, allowing authorized users to connect securely in an encrypted manner from outside the corporate network. This structure improves network organization, strengthens security and provides greater stability to the communications environment.
