The School of Art and Higher Design of Alicante (EASDA) is a public educational center belonging to the Higher Institute of Artistic Education of the Valencian Community (ISEACV). With more than a century of history in the city of Alicante, the school has evolved from its origins as a center for artisans to become one of the leading institutions in the field of design and the visual arts. Throughout its trajectory, it has adapted to the different educational frameworks, consolidating an academic offer that includes both Degrees in Design and Professional Education in Plastic Arts and Design.
In this project we implemented a Proxmox VE Cluster that serves as a virtualization infrastructure on which the main systems of the center are run. Thanks to this platform, we are able to centralize server management, improve the availability of critical services, and greatly simplify daily administration tasks. In addition, the cluster allows for easy scaling when the center needs to incorporate new services or carry out expansions, thus ensuring a flexible, stable environment that is prepared for future technological needs.
We designed the entire network topology, implemented VLANs to segment the different work areas, and configured a perimeter firewall based on FWCloud, which significantly improves the control and security of both internal and external traffic. In addition, we enabled VPNs to ensure secure remote access, allowing centralized and controlled management of connections from outside the center. This structure not only enhances the protection of the systems, but also facilitates network organization and provides greater stability to the communications environment.
Additionally, we deployed a professional WiFi network based on Ubiquiti UniFi technology, one of the most relevant elements of the project, as it guarantees wide, stable, and high-performance coverage throughout the entire center. Thanks to this infrastructure, students, teachers, and administrative staff can work with a reliable and consistent connection, even in environments with a high number of devices. The UniFi solution allows centralized management, detailed control of network usage, and the ability to create independent networks according to the center’s needs, becoming a fundamental pillar for the proper functioning of academic and administrative activities.
